PA’s technology added value options

Packaging Automation’s technology added value options save vital time for end users in high pressure production environments.

Three new production management and fault diagnosis tools are now available to install on high speed tray sealing lines providing full control and visibility of your packing lines as well as reducing costly down time.

The RFID authorised fob recognition system allows you to secure your machine set up to prevent unnecessary costly operational problems due to unauthorised changes. Unauthorized access can cause significant line downtime as well as quality control problems with completed production.

Using RFID technology you can regulate which employees are able to access which machines and perform which operations, whether that’s machine setup, program changes or more.
RFID has helped Lincoln based Branston Prepared Foods reduce unnecessary downtime.

Tom Britton Engineering Manager at Branston commented, “We have seen a massive reduction in operators adjusting settings, there is a huge difference compared to the other machine which doesn’t have RFID installed. I feel much more confident, it has eased the risk of operator error by only allowing the correct skilled employees to the right access level without the risk of employees sharing passwords. Branston supply a wide range of fresh potatoes, seed potatoes, processing potatoes, ready prepared potatoes to customers, from retailers and wholesalers to some of the UK's favourite snack brands.

Remote diagnostics allows connectivity into the heart of the machine via the internet allowing PA engineers to remotely access and diagnose faults, regardless of the machine’s location so that we can get to the root cause of stoppages quicker and help our customers to maintain higher levels of production provides a comprehensive view of issues - full line diagnosis of all linked PA machines.

With a greater focus in all manufacturing environments on OEE (overall equipment efficiency), Data Connect PA’s live data acquisition & production management tool can offer a live web based view of your machine and its current operating state (stopped / running) as well as live production statistics including output, current running speed as well as historic details of stoppages and changes to machine parameters.
