PA seal Bradbury's cheese boards

Bradbury’s is a modern thinking, innovative yet traditional company with over 130 years experience in the cheese business. Based in Buxton, they create cheese for major retailers, wholesalers, convenience stores, deli's and premium cheeseboard clients.

When a new project arose to provide premium cheese boards, Bradbury’s approached Packaging Automation after a recommendation from a current customer who had recently installed tray sealing machinery. Development trials were carried out by PA’s Sealing Technologist in PA’s test facility prior to the decision being taken to hire a tray sealer for the initial trials.

PA’s flexible hire to purchase deal allowed Bradbury’s to subsequently purchase the machine. These deals are attractive to small and medium sized businesses, who need to increase their capacity but are wary of investing in machinery in the early days of a project such as this or a sudden surge in product demand.

The PA182 model chosen by Bradbury’s is a rotary table, versatile tray sealer which combines reliability with simple operation. The machine is flexible and fully portable making it suitable for sealing all sizes of trays and pots and can be easily moved from one production line to another. The PA182 can seal up to 40 packs per minute, although much higher speed machines are also available from PA.

Andrew Varley from Bradbury’s said “We worked with PA in the early stages developing the packaging. Lots of work was carried out in their test kitchen by their Seal Technologist and we found their help and support really useful. To cope with the demand for the cheese boards we will soon be looking for new machinery and won’t hesitate in returning to PA.”
