Working diligently behind the scenes the Research & Development Team are perhaps the unsung heroes or the hidden gems at Packaging Automation.
A small team of 4 they are a creative and self-motivated group who work to innovate and develop concept machines. Often the first stage in the development process, their aim is quite simply to get new machines to market !
The team consists of:
Dave - Senior Mechanical R&D Engineer
Rui - Senior R&D Engineer
Darren - Engineering Works
Usman - KTP Associate
Following internal discussions, the team set about making the machines faster and more reliable whilst mitigating any potential risk.
Breaking the project into small chunks they can reduce the risk of any potential fails and find better ways to overcome limitations.
Bit by bit they prove each element and run prototype tests, filing patents where appropriate to protect IP.
The result is a new fully tested machine, and the MiWeigh, factory efficient, intelligent weighing system is a great example of this.
The team are now working on some very exciting developments including a brand new machine, but the R&D Team are a secretive bunch and will not let us tell you anything just yet…. watch this space for more news coming soon…
