The Client: Tastily
is a subscription based meal delivery service for food lovers short on time bringing nutritious and sustainable foods designed by a Michelin star trained, delivered in recyclable and reusable packaging.
The Challenge: Achieve extended shelf life
Capitalising on the impact of Covid-19 including the public's relationship with supermarkets and restaurants given social distancing and lock-down restrictions, new business Tastily launched in July 2020 at the height of the national pandemic.
Following extensive research, they were confident that PA were experts in their field and the right people to help them. They reached out to the team at PA looking for a solution to help them reduce shipping costs but achieve an extended product shelf life of 7 days plus and they were not disappointed.
The Solution: Tray Sealer - EC182
As a new start up business with no previous experience of heat sealing the PA Test Kitchen was where it all began, demonstrating the benefits of heat sealing whilst trialling the different available option.
With the support and guidance from the team at PA, we were able to instil confidence - the solution was clear – the Tray Sealer - EC182 - was the machine for the job. Known for its ease of use, very quick and easy tooling changeover and outputs of up to 40 packs per minute combined with the option to incorporate a modified atmosphere (MAP) into the packs to extend the shelf life it could deliver everything that Tastily was looking for.
