During May 2022 #TeamPA were given the opportunity to make a donation via their wages to the Lymm and District Ukraine Refugee Support Fund.
This group is driving projects and activities to support the hosting initiatives, settlement and integration of incoming refugee families in the Lymm and local area. Their fundraising campaign has been established to accept local financial donations which are then used for items which may include clothing, language classes, administrative and legal support, school integration and uniforms, job and career support and social classes for all ages.
As a local employer #PackagingAutomation was keen to offer support and of course, #TeamPA did not disappoint, employees donated a total of £595.00 and this figure was then matched by Packaging Automation to give a total donation of £1,190.00 to the Ukraine Support Fund.
Tanya Westenraad, Engineering Design Manager went to visit the charity and find out a bit more about their work.
Tanya commented: “It was fantastic, seeing the people and children together, knowing that the money we donated was truly helping. They are also working with the local council and bus routes, to aid further transportation routes to help them travel to jobs around the Knutsford and Altrincham areas. They are looking for support to find jobs now as individuals begin to settle down and improve their English with the lessons provided by the support group.“
We wish them all every success as they settle into their new lives and have made them aware of current vacancies at Packaging Automation, with 1 CV already received.
