At Packaging Automation, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting initiatives that make a difference in people's lives. That's why we're excited to announce our new volunteer initiative with local charity, the Welcome in Knutsford.
The Welcome is more than just a support group; it's a lifeline for the local community. They provide essential services like meals on wheels for older individuals or those unable to cook for themselves. Recognising the importance of this work, our PA Community has stepped in to support The Welcome by providing one of our PA217 machines on free hire and sourcing trays and film for their ready meal service.
PA colleagues, Lee and Libbie (pictured left) were the first volunteers from the PA Community to lend a helping hand at The Welcome. Their dedication and enthusiasm set the stage for what promises to be a meaningful partnership. As they shared their time and skills, they embodied The Welcome's ethos of compassion and community support.
Libbie commented: “I really enjoyed the opportunity me and Lee were given to spend the day volunteering at The Welcome. We helped with numerous different things, from peeling potatoes and cutting up plums - to serving customers in the cafe. It was a really rewarding day, we got to learn more about what The Welcome does for the people of Knutsford whilst getting more of an insight into the importance of donations & support from the community, that they so heavily rely on to keep the charity running. From volunteering and gaining this knowledge, it reiterates how great it is that as a company, we get to raise money for The Welcome and the amazing things they do for the community! “
The Welcome recognises that we all need help at some point and aims to provide people in Knutsford with a facility to learn, share, eat, and grow through a range of activities, groups, and services. The needs and hopes of the community are at the heart of everything they do.
