An apprenticeship and a first class honours degree

Chris Eckert is a Sales Engineer at Packaging Automation who joined #TeamPA initially, approximately 10 years ago, as an Apprentice.

He was recently interviewed by Esther McVey on her GB News programme when they discussed the benefits of the apprenticeship programme versus a university education after A levels.

After successfully completing his A levels Chris had the opportunity to go to university but felt that he wasn’t completely certain it was the right route for him. He decided to take the apprenticeship route and went through the National Apprenticeship website and subsequently the selection process to begin his career at PA as an Apprentice Engineer.

Chris is now a time served engineer with ten years’ experience and a first-class honours degree, being sponsored by PA also means he has none of the debt which comes with University.

If you didn’t manage to see his interview you can catch it again here.
