PPMA - How was it for you?

This week, for the first time in over 18 months #TeamPA were at a live event – the PPMA Show at the NEC, Birmingham and expectations were high!

Following the postponement of all live events in 2020 and early 2021 due to the COVID pandemic, #TeamPA were keen to get out and about again but were naturally apprehensive.

Nonetheless, the stand was booked, layout designed, machines loaded onto the wagon and we were on our way.

As well as showcasing the versatility of the Rotofill, a flexible high speed rotary filling and closing machine incorporating servo technology; the benefits of Skinpacking technology on board trays and the resulting reduction in plastic packaging; and the innovative factory efficient MiWeigh weighing system with positive and negative scales, the stand would feature a Virtual Reality Demonstration Cave to enable customers to see new processing and packing lines and experience the machines first-hand !

But the big question was, would anyone show up! The first show since 2019, the repercussions of Covid 19 and on top of that a fuel crisis, we were ready and waiting but really didn’t know what to expect.

We were in for a pleasant surprise, the doors opened and the visitors arrived and we’re pleased to say the quality of visitors was excellent. It was clear that those who turned up were serious buyers and knew what they wanted.

The team were busy from the off and happy to talk all things #traysealers #weighsystems and #potfillers to anyone who was interested.

We asked some of the team what they thought of the show, here’s what they said:

Sam Ashton, Commercial Director said: “this has been a really valuable show for us to catch up with existing customers but also to meet some new contacts too. We have had some very worthwhile conversations and couldn’t be happier.”

Matt Delaney, Sales Engineer commented: “It’s been great to be out and about again talking to our customers and meeting potential new customers too. There has been such a lot of interest in our skinpac machines this week too”

Scott Roebuck, Sales Engineer was interviewed on PPMA TV and mentioned: “we have been extremely busy and to be honest I’m pleasantly surprised, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect! We’ve been showcasing our MiWeigh weighing system this week and there have been so many enquiries from such a diverse range of customers”

So, it’s fair to say that we think PPMA Show 2021 was a big success but as we all know the hard work starts now continuing those conversations and setting up trials in our test kitchen!

Thank you PPMA for a great show, see you next year!
