May News Round-up

Updated: Aug 2, 2021

2 bank holidays and a lot of rain in May couldn’t keep #TeamPA down.

It has been busier than ever, and our special thanks go to everyone for their exceptional commitment and hard work during these very busy times.

Here’s a quick peek at what went on in May.

Exceptional Employee Award

Congratulations to Paul Butler who was awarded the Exceptional Employee Award in recognition of his productivity on a recent R&D tooling project. It was a tough decision for the Staff Council with some very strong nominations and well done to everyone who was nominated this time.

New Starters

We welcomed 3 new starters to #TeamPA this month

· Aaron Doncaster – Mechanical Fitter

· Robert Hines – Machinist, Machine Shop

· Ben Purves – Machinist, Machine Shop

Apprentice Recruitment

Our Annual Apprentice Recruitment is now well underway with Stage 1 interviews taking place. We will keep you updated with progress and introduce you to our new talent later.

Vacancies

We currently have the following vacancies open:

Team Updates

In the Projects Team – Steve and Mark both celebrated 50th Birthdays this month – there was a lot of cake!

We are so pleased that John Stanley, previously a Mechanical Fitter, took up his new position as Assembly Validation and Inspection Engineer following a period of ill health.

Machines

It has been another busy month for the Projects Team with machines being dispatched throughout the UK and globally. Click here to find out what machines went where in May.

Training

May also saw us launch our online health & safety training platform courtesy of iHASCO.

All our teams are now completing the appropriate modules in their own time, and we are receiving great feedback from the team.

This month we have successfully renewed our Safe Contractor status.

Fundraising

As always, our Fundraising Team have been busy and this month it was Pack O Fun – Play Your Cards Right.

This exciting event was based around the famous TV game show ‘Play your cards right’ with the hopes of giving the PA staff a bit of fun!

As the covid restrictions were easing, we could finally have 6 people ( with safety measures) in the room at one time which allowed us to plan something that groups of people could enjoy all together. The game was a great laugh to play and it was lovely seeing everybody enjoy themselves after all the ups, downs + changes due to Covid.

Our thanks to the Pack o Fun team, our receptionist Louise and Chairman Anthony Penn who together made this great day happen !

As a special thank you treat for the Pack o Fun team, Sandra kindly arranged an afternoon meal at the Dun Cow pub. The Team were able to catch up and talk about the future plans for the Pack o Fun events … watch this space…

Willow the office dog!

.After a busy month all round, Willow was rewarded with some well-deserved family time this bank holiday weekend including football, walkies and a trip to the local pub supporting the local community!

We will continue to bring you all the latest news from #TeamPA again in June but until then … feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
